"Without JCCI there is no way that we would
have been able to get a proposal organized and in on time. Their
skilled personnel know colleges and issues in higher education.
They "cut to the chase" and asked the right questions
to get the answers they and we needed in order to put pen to paper.
They know how to respond to request for proposals, how to organize
material for grants, and how to write clearly. I would highly recommend
JCCI."

| "I
have worked with Jennifer Kerns and JCCI Resource Development Services
for several years, as president of two different institutions, Coffeyville
Community College in Kansas and Iowa Western Community College in
Council Bluffs. Jennifer always helped faculty and staff to clarify
what they wanted to accomplish and to plan how they would get there.
Her clear thinking and good writing and editing skills contributed
greatly to the grant and fund-raising successes at each institution."

"Your associate, Dick Witter, was a grand match with our
college. He expertly provided the planning assistance we badly needed.
As well, he readily shared his years of experience and hard-earned
knowledge as he guided us in developing our plans. We feel it is
the best plan for a Title III Institutional Aid Program grant we
have developed yet."

Program Evaluation
Evaluation! That’s center stage
today.
As members of the American Evaluation
Association (AEA), JCCI Resource Development Services personnel are prepared
to conduct comprehensive and reliable evaluations of your organization’s
programs and services. We ascribe to the professional educational program
evaluation standards of the AEA. These include standards of -
- utility - to ensure that an evaluation
will serve the information needs of intended users. Evaluation reports
should clearly describe the program being evaluated, including its context,
and the purposes, procedures, and findings of the evaluation, so that
essential information is provided and easily understood.
- feasibility - to ensure that an evaluation
will be realistic, prudent, diplomatic, and cost-effective. Evaluation procedures
should be practical, to keep disruption to a minimum while needed information
is obtained.
- propriety - to ensure that an evaluation
will be conducted legally, ethically, and with due regard for the welfare
of those involved in the evaluation, as well as those affected by its
results. An evaluation should be complete and fair in its examination
and recording of strengths and weaknesses of the program, so that strengths
can be built upon and problem areas addressed.
- accuracy - to ensure that an evaluation
will reveal and convey technically adequate information about the features
that determine worth or merit of the program being evaluated. Qualitative
and quantitative information should be appropriately and systematically
analyzed so that evaluation questions are effectively answered.
JCCI also adheres to the following principles
of evaluation-
- Evaluators conduct systematic, data-based
inquiries.
- Evaluators provide competent performance
to stakeholders.
- Evaluators display honesty and integrity
in their own behavior, and attempt to ensure the honesty and integrity
of the entire evaluation process.
- Evaluators respect the security, dignity
and self-worth of respondents, program participants, clients, and other
evaluation stakeholders.
- Evaluators articulate and take into
account the diversity of general and public interests and values that
may be related to the evaluation.
With these standards and principles in
mind, JCCI Resource Development Services can assist you in designing the
best formative and summative evaluations for your institution’s
programs and services. We can help you answer such questions as……Have
you provided for both formative and summative evaluations? Were your measurable
objectives achieved? If not, why not? What impact and results did you
really achieve? Were your implementation strategies accomplished according
to plan? If not, why not? What, beyond the measurable objectives, did
the project achieve? What impacts and outcomes were there? How did the
institution change?
